Today, the Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management (DLGDM) officially commenced the 7th Batch Basic Search and Rescue (SAR) Training at the National Search and Rescue Training Centre (NSARTC) at Tashigatshel, Chhukha. This initiative, funded by the European Union and in collaboration with the Samdrup Jongkhar Thromde Administration, aims to enhance the skills of 50 Royal Bhutan Police personnel and 13 dedicated Desuup (Guardians of Peace) trainees.

The training opening ceremony was graced by the Superintendent of Police of NSARTC, who served as the Chief Guest. This essential 14-day program will conclude on April 28, 2025, focusing on crucial areas such as drill and physical training, knot systems, swift water rescue, firefighting techniques, and psychological first aid.

We look forward to the growth and positive impact this training will bring to disaster management in Bhutan.
