Four Days Disaster Risk Management Training for Female Tshogpas (28 April - 1 May 2025)

The Department of Local Governance & Disaster Management,  with the funding from the World Bank has conducted a four day training from 28 April to 1 May 2025, on a Disaster Risk Management (DRM) training in Paro, Bhutan, targeting 32 female Tshogpas and 7 Thimphu Thromde Thuemi. The training aimed to strengthen their capacity in disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation, recognizing their crucial role in community resilience.

Key focus areas included:
✅ Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) – Identifying local hazards, conducting risk assessments, and developing community contingency plans.
✅ Fire Safety Measures – Understanding fire hazards, safe handling, and emergency evacuation.
✅ First Aid and fire safety training - To equip participants with essential emergency response skills.
This initiative empowers female Tshogpas with critical knowledge and practical skills, enhancing their ability to safeguard their communities against potential disasters.
