Strengthening the functioning of Chiwog Zomdu and Local Government Sessions
The Department based on the Assessment Study on the functioning of Chiwog Zomdu and the Assessment of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu session, have conducted an awareness program on strengthening the functioning of Chiwog Zomdu and Local Government sessions in 19 Dzongkhags and 37 Gewogs in the month of September and October 2022. This program was initiated basically to streamline the gaps in compliance to the legislative frameworks including the Local Government Act, rules and regulations, guidelines and manuals formulated by the central government. The conclusion from these assessment studies shows that there is a need to devise strategies to focus on implementation aspects in the local governments.
