INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION 2023 (Theme: FIGHTING INEQUALITY FOR A RESILIENT FUTURE)

Globally, International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is observed on 13th October annually to raise public  awareness  on disaster risks  and advocate  the efforts   on  reducing disaster risks like loss of lives, injury, damages to assets  and livelihoods. The Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs and in Partnership with World Food Programme joins the global community in observing the International Disaster Risk Reduction Day, 2023 on  the theme: Fighting inequality for a resilient future.

The day highlights how people and communities around the globe are lowering their vulnerability to catastrophes and increasing awareness about the necessity of mitigating the risk they face.
