Introductory meeting with the stakeholders for Enhancing Resilience of infrastructure through strengthened Governance Project, implementation in Bhutan

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) are working together to support countries in Improving infrastructure resilience through the “Enhancing Resilience of Infrastructure Through Strengthened Governance Project”. The United Nations Satellite Center (UNOSAT) hosted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is supporting the UNDRR and CDRI in the implementation of this project in Bhutan. The introductory meeting for stakeholders for the project was held on 4th January 2024 in Thimphu. During the meeting participants were introduced the objective of the project which is to:

·      Analyse the current state of infrastructure resilience; a review of the regulations and policies governing key infrastructure sectors and designing policy and strategy 
·      Provide recommendations on current regulations, policies and strategies to facilitate multi-stakeholder risk-informed decision-making and 
·      Support the development of longterm plans and strategies
 
Seventeen (17) individual representations from fourteen (14) agencies from different organizations participated in person and representatives from CDR, UNOSAT, UNDRR and UNITAR participated virtually.
