Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Training and Advocacy of Local Governance Practices and Protocols for Dzongrabs and Drungpas

The Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management conducted Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Advocacy of Local Governance Practices and Protocols for Dzongrabs and Drungpas from 27-30 April 2026 at Phuentsholing, Chhukha. A total of 27 Dzongrabs and Drungpas attended the training.

The training aimed at building knowledge, skills and leadership capacity of Dzongrabs and Drungpas across key dimensions of DRM. It covered critical areas such as geo-hydrological hazards, Early Warning Systems, Incident Command, Forest Fire Management and disaster response systems using interactive sessions, group exercises, experience sharing and a table-top simulation to translate learning into practical decision making and coordination.   

The program also covered the session on Community Contracting Protocol (CCP) 2026 and Community Engagement Platform(CEP) in strengthening community participation, enhancing transparency, and promoting inclusive and accountable local governance practices.
