CBDRM and CADRE Programmes in Phangkhar Gewog, Zhemgang Dzongkhag
The Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) and Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) training was conducted in Pantang Chiwog under Phangkhar Gewog from 13 - 15 January 2026 to enhance community preparedness, risk awareness, and response capacity. The activity focused on identifying local hazards, vulnerabilities, and capacities while imparting disaster management knowledge and skills community members to develop and own a Community Disaster Management Plan (CDMP).
Participants included community members - elderly, women and youth, Gewog officials, Desuups, RBP staffs, and health staffs, participated in the three-day program. Key outcomes included hazard and evacuation mapping, formation of Community Response Teams (CRT), preparation of a comprehensive CDMP, and practical drills on first aid, fire safety, and evacuation.
