Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) and Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) programme in Jabisa, Damji, and Gyeza Zomina Chiwogs under Khamaed Gewog, Gasa Dzongkhag

The Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management (DLGDM), in collaboration with Gasa Dzongkhag  and RBP, conducted the Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) and Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) programme in Jabisa, Damji, and Gyeza Zomina Chiwogs under Khamaed Gewog from 12–17 May 2026.
The programme aimed to strengthen community resilience and disaster preparedness by building local knowledge, skills, and response systems. It focused on treating communities as the first line of response during disasters.
The programme provided training on disaster risk awareness and multi-hazard identification, Hazard, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (HVCA), first aid, fire safety, and emergency response. It also included the development of community hazard and evacuation maps, formation of Community Response Teams (CRTs), and preparation of Community Disaster Management Plans (CDMPs).
